How do I enroll or register?
Registration will begin in January. To start the enrollment process we ask that you call to schedule an appointment to tour our school. We suggest that you and your child spend some time visiting his/her prospective classroom before making your final decision to enroll. Waiting lists are kept for each class and utilized as spaces become available. Registration is considered complete when all required paperwork and the non-refundable registration fee is paid.
When is school in session?
School will begin the Monday after Labor Day and will run for 37 consecutive weeks. Merrimack PTA Kindergarten & Preschool observes the Merrimack School District Holiday and Vacation schedules.
Does my child need to be Immunized?
Children are to be immunized according to the recommendations of the Department of Child Care Standards and Licensing.
Do I have to be a resident of Merrimack or a member of the Parent Teacher Association to send my child to the school?
Merrimack PTA Kindergarten & Preschool is open to all children regardless of residency or any organizational affiliation.
How can I as a parent get involved?
Parental Involvement is a vital part of our school. Parents may volunteer for the year as a Room Parent, Librarian, or Committee member on our Board. You may also assist with home projects (tracing, cutting), a Project day helper, participating in fundraisers, lunch time visits, and as a Driver/Chaperone on local field trips.
What does the PTA Board do?
Our school is operated by a Committee of six dedicated parents and staffed by a director, three teachers, three associate teachers and a treasurer. The Committee consists of a chairperson, secretary, tuition treasurer, supply agent, publicity agent and fundraising coordinator. Committee and staff make up the Board who meet monthly. All major decisions regarding the school are made by a majority vote of the Board. Specifically the Board is responsible for hiring staff, maintaining physical plant of school and grounds, managing all financial matters of school, purchasing all materials, assisting daily operation by opening our door to welcome children in the morning, stocking supplies, hanging the flag & swings.
