Orientation Week, Sept. 13th

With the summer sun high in the sky, it is time for us to look ahead to September and prepare to welcome you in! The beginning of school always brings mixed reactions. Some children will easily separate and run to the door while others may show more reluctance. Please be assured both responses are normal! The staff at Merrimack PTA Kindergarten and Preschool will do all that we can to make this a happy and positive year for both your child and you.
As we finish putting the supplies away, freshening up the building and setting up the classrooms, you should have received a packet regarding our Orientation Week schedule beginning September 13, 2010.
The “Smiley Face” sign will appear outside the door at 9:00 a.m. to let the children know that it is time to come inside. All children must stay in cars until it is time to enter the building. Please refer to the Handbook for specific directions regarding drop-off/pick-up safety.

Kindergarten Orientation Schedule
August 18, 2009
Monday, Sept.14 Open House with Parents and Students (9:00a-11:00a)
Tuesday, Sept.15 Orientation Day, Three hour day, (9:00a-12:00p)
This is for students only. The shorter day allows the students and teachers to become acquainted with each other before they begin their full four hour day. Send a healthy mid-morning snack. We will provide milk or water for snack each day throughout the year.
Wednesday, Sept. 16 Three Hour Day (9:00a-12:00p)
Send a snack
Thursday, Sept. 17 Full Day (9:00a-1:00p)
Send a snack and cold lunch with a beverage.
Friday, Sept. 18 Full Day (9:00a-1:00p)

This is for students only. Half of the students will attend a 1 1/4 hour session to meet with their teachers and get acquainted with the room. Your child has been assigned to attend one of the following sessions:
9:00 – 10:15
10:45 – 12:00
Friday, Sept. 18 Full Day (9:00-12:00) Please send a snack. We will provide milk or water for snack each day throughout the year
