Michelle Desmarais, Director

Michelle has been in the early childhood education field for 17 years and attained her Bachelor’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University. She also earned a child Development Associates credential through the National CDA Program. Michelle is the mother of two children, one of whom is a graduate of PTA. Having been involved with the school since 2009 including a holding a board position, Michelle loves being the director of PTA!


Margaret Bailey, Lead Pre-Kindergarten Teacher

Margaret has been affiliated with PTA since 2003. She is the mother of three children whom combined, attended PTA for a total of 6 years! Prior to her involvement here, Margaret worked with young children with autism. She also worked for several years with children in foster care due to abuse and neglect. She has her master’s degree in counseling with a minor in education and participated in a play therapy internship program. We have been extremely fortunate to have her teach at PTA and look forward to another great year.

Erica Christie, Pre-Kindergarten Assistant Teacher

Erica is the mother of two children, both of whom attended PTA. She has been involved in our school since 2005 when her first child began attending. Her studies included early childhood education at the University of Wisconsin Superior and prior to her employment here, she taught a music class in town at the YMCA for 4 years. Erica’s career at PTA began as our music and movement teacher. She was hired as our assistant teacher in 2008 and has been here ever since! We are so fortunate to have her in our program and look forward to a great year ahead.

Leah Pikora, Lead Preschool Teacher

Leah is the mother of twins, both of whom are PTA graduates. She has been involved in our school since 2008 and was our substitute teacher before she was hired as our Preschool Assistant, and now has taken the lead teacher role in the classroom. She has her Bachelor of Science in nursing and her Masters in Education. Leah has experience working with preschoolers as well as working with children who have special education needs. She previously held a board position and has been involved in our school in many different ways. We look forward to sharing another amazing year.

Lhea McCaffery, Preschool Assistant Teacher

Lhea  is a wonderful addition to PTA! She is the mom of three school aged daughters and attained her Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in education. Lhea has substituted for some of the local elementary and secondary schools and has cared for many children in her own home over the last several years. She is an amazing assistant teacher and we are so glad to have her back for another great year ahead!

 


Dorina Nimigean, Lead Kindergarten Teacher

Dorina brings a wealth of knowledge and teaching experience into our PTA classroom. She has her Bachelor of Science degree in Geology and graduated with her Early Childhood Credential from the Northeast Montessori Institute. She is multilingual and has taught many different age groups.  We are very fortunate to have Miss. Dorina, who brings nature, folk dancing and many other facets into the classroom
